Hyperosmolar Hyperglycemic Syndrome

An emergency condition in which one's blood glucose level is very high, but ketones are not present in the blood or urine. If left untreated, it can lead to coma or death. Also known as hyperosmolar hyperglycemic nonketotic syndrome (HHNS). Abbreviated as HHS.
