About the Editorial Director

Kelly Rawlings is the editorial director of Diabetes Forecast content. She is also a person with diabetes, type 1 (PWD type 1). She brings more than 23 years of experience in service journalism to her work on the American Diabetes Association’s consumer publications. As an active member of the diabetes community, Kelly is an advocate for diabetes education and patient empowerment, serving as the public member on the board of directors of the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators and on the advisory board of Diabetes Social Media Advocacy (#dsma), a weekly moderated Twitter chat. Kelly has served as a cochair for the Taking Control of Your Diabetes conference in Des Moines and speaks about living with diabetes to community and professional groups.
