Water Workouts Help With Joint or Nerve Pain
Don’t let joint or nerve pain keep you from your workout. Instead, hit the pool. A review of nine studies, which included a total of 222 participants with type 2 diabetes, revealed that aquatic exercises significantly lowered blood glucose levels. In three of the studies, water workouts’ impact on blood glucose matched the benefits of workouts done on dry land (at home, outdoors, or at the gym). These low-impact exercises, which include water walking and water aerobics, may help ease pain, build muscle, and reduce weight. Eventually, such improvements may enable you to exercise more comfortably out of the pool.
