Ordering Takeout Before Hunger Cuts Calories
If you’re someone who orders takeout meals, you can cut calories by placing your order before you get hungry. Researchers conducted several experiments to test this, including one with 690 employees using an on-site workplace cafeteria. They could order lunch any time after 7 a.m. for pickup between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. For every hour between order placement and pickup, there were about 38 fewer calories in the order. Another option: Bring a bagged lunch, and pack it on a full stomach.
