Home Cooking Trims Waistlines
Eating out less often may trim your waistline and lower your risk for type 2 diabetes. As part of two larger studies, researchers followed 58,051 women and 41,676 men without diabetes for over 25 years. Participants who reported preparing 11 to 14 meals at home per week were 14 percent less likely to develop type 2 than those who ate six or fewer home-cooked meals a week. Those who ate out more also gained more weight over the study period. However, the study didn’t prove cause and effect.
