A Diabetes-Focused Caillou Book for Kids
Some reading fun for the preschool and kindergarten set: A new book featuring the beloved Caillou and his friend Emma portrays a typical day for a child with type 1 diabetes. Caillou is confused when Emma gets to have extra snacks at preschool. His teacher, Miss Martin, explains that Emma has type 1 diabetes. Caillou is worried about his friend. But when Emma outruns Caillou in a race, he soon realizes Emma’s diabetes isn’t like a cold or flu. It’s something Emma lives with every day, and she’s doing a pretty good job of it.
The paperback book, designed for kids ages 3 to 6, features a special poster developed by the American Diabetes Association.
Caillou’s buddy Emma would have fun making these perfect-for-kids Cheese-and-Veggie Pinwheels.
