More Fiber = Less Heart Disease
To keep your heart healthy, add more fiber to your diet. In an analysis of 22 studies, researchers learned that every 7 grams of fiber participants added to their daily eating plan lowered their risk for cardiovascular disease and coronary heart disease by 9 percent. The extra fiber is the equivalent of two to four servings of fruits and vegetables or the combination of one serving of whole grains and one serving of beans.
