Some Type 1s Get Too Little Exercise

People with type 1 diabetes are active, but a third still aren’t meeting the American Diabetes Association’s exercise recommendations. In a survey of 306 adults with type 1 diabetes, 51 percent reported engaging in formal exercise five times per week. But 32 percent said they exercised less than the recommended three times weekly. The most common reason given for exercising was staying fit, with glucose regulation second.
