Fast-Food Diners Guess Wrong on Calories
How many calories are in your favorite fast-food meal? Go ahead, take a guess. Chances are your estimate is low. That's what researchers found when they asked people to estimate the number of calories in the fast-food meal they had just purchased. At least two-thirds of participants underestimated the number of calories in their meal, including a quarter who were off by at least 500 calories. People eating at Subway restaurants were further off the mark than diners at other fast-food places, suggesting the chain's meals are considered healthier than they actually are.
