Eating Breakfast May Boost Test Scores
One more reason to consider breakfast as the most important meal of the day: It may make kids do better in school. Researchers tracked the eating habits of 1,269 six-year-olds in China and tested their intelligence. They found that kids who ate breakfast almost every day had higher test scores than those who consumed breakfast sometimes, even after accounting for family differences in socioeconomic status. The authors say that breakfast may help fuel the mind, allowing kids to perform well in an academic setting.
