Successful Weight-Loss Strategies
If you want to lose weight, take note: By keeping a food journal, preparing your own meals, and never skipping meals, you can drop pounds. In a study, 123 overweight or obese women were assigned to follow a diet, an exercise plan, a diet and exercise plan, or nothing at all. Women in the diet groups who often tracked what they ate in a food journal lost more than those who journaled infrequently or not at all. But eating out for lunch at least once a week and skipping meals were linked to less weight loss.
