ADA Books for E-Readers

The American Diabetes Association's hardcover and paperback books are now available in another format: e-books.

Every new book published by the ADA will be available as an e-book at shopdiabetes.org, the Association's online store. Electronic books, or e-books, are simply digital versions of print books, specifically designed to be read on e-readers, mobile phones, computers, and other electronic devices. Your iPad, Nook, or other device can keep a library of diabetes information right at your fingertips.

The ADA's e-books can be ordered at shopdiabetes.org and at major e-book publishing sites. Because e-books are delivered digitally, straight to your computer or other device, you can get the information you need right away—and at a lower price than for a hardcover or paperback edition, with no shipping charges. Purchases at shopdiabetes.org help fund the ADA's mission to stop diabetes and improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

"This will help people with diabetes and health professionals quickly find the information they need, when and where they need it," says Abe Ogden, director of book publishing for the ADA.

As the Association gears up its e-books program, older titles will be added to the list as well. Cookbooks won't be added immediately, though, and ADA titles are not available for the Amazon Kindle at this time.
