Registration Opens for ADA Diabetes Camps

By Katie Bunker ,

For many children and their parents, March is the time to make plans for spring break. But for kids with diabetes, it's also the perfect time to start thinking about summer vacation—and signing up for diabetes camp. Registration is now open for American Diabetes Association Camps, which are operated at 45 locations in 27 states.

At ADA Diabetes Camps, kids can hike, swim, create crafts, play games, make friends, and enjoy a week away from home, all under the watchful eye of diabetes care professionals and trained counselors. Registration is first-come, first-served and may close as early as this month at some camps.

Most of ADA's 56 sessions of Diabetes Camps are weeklong overnight stays for kids under 18, but 18 of the sessions are day camps only, geared for younger children.
