Ingredients
1 | (10 oz.) bag frozen edamame (soybeans in the pod) | |
1/2 | tsp. | coarse red Hawaiian or |
other coarse sea salt, or to taste |
Directions
- Place a large saucepan filled about 3/4 full of water over high heat, and bring to a boil. Add the frozen edamame, and return to a boil; then boil for 3 minutes.
- Remove the edamame with a slotted spoon to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Drain once the edamame is slightly cool. Trim each pod's stem end for easy eating.
- While the edamame are still slightly moist, and just before serving, toss with salt. Provide bowls for the empty pods. Or, if desired, shell edamame and then toss with salt before serving.
