More than 140,000 people are expected to take part this fall in Step Out: Walk to Fight Diabetes, an annual American Diabetes Association fund-raiser. Walkers in 180 U.S. cities raised $19.2 million in last year's event, helping ADA continue to fund essential diabetes research, prevention, education, and advocacy programs. This year, the walk's slogan is "Together We Can Stop Diabetes. One Step at a Time." Step Out walks are held from September through November; the dates and sites of upcoming walks are displayed on this map:

You can find specific locations and register online at diabetes.org/stepout. For more information about a Step Out in your area, contact your local ADA office.

New to Step Out this year are the Red Striders, walkers with diabetes who wear distinctive red caps. You can join a Red Striders team or create your own by registering at
diabetes.org/stepout.
