Fat, juicy burgers may be the ultimate Fourth of July fare, but new research suggests you may want to grill some fish or chicken instead. Researchers studied half a million men and women between the ages of 50 and 71 and, after a decade of follow-up, discovered that those who ate the most red and processed meats had the highest risk of death from any cause. On the flip side, those who dined on the most “white meat”—poultry and fish, that is, but not pork—were the least likely to die from cancer.
