Ingredients
1/4 | cup | unsweetened natural cocoa powder |
3 | Tbsp. | turbinado sugar |
1/8 | tsp. | sea salt |
1/3 | cup | water |
3 1/2 | cups | low-fat milk |
3/4 | tsp. | pure vanilla extract |
1/8 | tsp. | pure almond extract (optional) |
Directions
- Whisk the cocoa, sugar, salt, and water together in a medium saucepan over medium heat until the mixture boils. Boil, whisking, for 30 seconds.
- Pour in the milk and whisk for 5 minutes or until hot—but don't let the milk boil.
- Remove from heat, add vanilla and almond extract (if using), and pour into a heatproof pitcher. Chill. Stir or lightly shake before serving.
